I thought I would ask in here to see if this is a global issue or just something we are seeing in the UK.
You bike is fine and then suddenly the battery light comes on. Before you know it your bike has stopped by the side of the road and you have no power. No working just boom....dead
I guess because I am in a group of 6000 Sportster owners we see the same sort of issue come up. Myself and 2 others within a 10 mile radius have had the exact same issue
Basically the stator cable is rubbing on the engine casing and rubbing through. Always at the same point, it only seems to be with EFI bikes so hopefully people are still in warranty when it happens. No help when you are in the middle of nowhere.
I managed to fix mine with some cable connectors and self amalgamating tape and for the past 2 years all has been well
Anyone on the other side of the pond had the same issues?
