If your motorcycle is equipped with a fuel gauge then maybe it will work otherwise I'm afraid it will not .

Got me thinking, as there is fuel gauge kits for the sportster, wonder if you can get that to the speedo somehow?

Yea.

I've never tore into an EFI sporty tank so, wasn't sure what was in there. Was thinking, hey - if it knows when the fuel is low, maybe there is a float or something in there.

I was thinking, maybe it could be done with math, you know - like, I know the burn rate via the ECM, and I know the tank size. Problem is, how to know how much fuel is in the tank to begin with? Damn, now this is gonna bug me. Kinda like one of those word problems from high school. "Bernice, Jeff and Tim get on a train traveling east at 45 miles per hour..... what color is the bear?" haha

Quick update, the clamp/riser from the street bob places the speedo too close to the tank. Ordering a set from a breakout and will give that a go!

The assembly from the new softails has a float to read the fuel level. Could that be frankensteined onto the sporty fuel assembly? The part (61200057) is $50 so I might dig into this

At the beginning of the year I added the analog tach / digital speedo along with the fuel sending unit to my custom. There's not a lot of wiggle room in the 4.5 gal tank to get the fuel pump assembly in. If you can fit that Frankenstein float into a sporty tank than H-D should hire you for their engineering department!

Ha, yeah I'm sure it can be done a'la ship in a bottle, but if I ever need to get the pump assembly out again..
What kind of fuel sending unit do you have? I've been thinking about the fuel gauge kit specifically for sportsters, and just using the fuel level sensor thing from that kit.
