After riding in the middle of rain for a several times, I decide to get some light rain gears. I do not care about my upper body, I wear jacket all the time. I just want something to cover my feet, especially the lower. I like the idea of the rain gator, got a question, are they slippery? I wouldn't mind to get rain pants but it isn't easy to put on. Alex
Many guys I know buy the inexpensive Frogg Togg's, and they seem to work very well.
There is a trick you can use on them to keep the exhaust pipes from melting/burning the lower leg.
Just get regular duct tape, and put a layer on the lower leg that might come in contact with the pipe. The duct tape will prevent the heat from the exhaust from harming the portion of the leg that might 'get too close'..
128auto,I use both. There is a lot of water coming of the front wheel, this is what gators are for.Rain pants will keep your legs dry,not your feet.I got my gators from a Yamaha dealer, they have open heels. My rain gear hasn't melted.
OFG, thanks for your tips.
WRAITH, that is what I mean, the water on the road splashes on my feet and lower, feels so bad. I came across with these HD gators, they come with heat shield, I will go shop around tomorrow. Most sport bikers don't have this problem because the fairing kind of cover their feet and legs.
