while riding my battery/check engine light comes on. now....bike died so pulled battery and it started. stopped to get gas, wouldnt start. sounded as if it was dead but had lights. the bike took a jump so i tried to get it home. while on the road the idiot lights came on an had no speedometer and the bike shut right down and wouldnt start let alone take a jump. any ideas where to begin? thank you
You didn't provide any information about your bike like, model, year or mileage, it's hard to offer specific help.
It sounds like your charging system has failed, either the stator, regulator, or both.
Its an 883 2007. Has 38000. Battery fully charged an no issue starting 3xs. But....on my home from church blk an half away the idiot lights came on .is there an easy way without a meeter to check this?
I was also told ....seeing lights come on an off it could be a little connection. I tried to look this morning but it's hard at 330am. I'll check all connections to rectifier an stator when the sun comes out. Battery is back on charge. I did throw it in to go to store .a block away idiot lights came on. When I left the store they stayed off. I live approximetley 6blks away from a local super market
we took everything apart but noticed the plug is different on new stator vs old. now we didnt take out old. now what i think is location of stator cable may not be. a connector on primary facing front. could i be wrong>
? new is female old is male connection
How quick is the battery going dead, how old is the battery? A battery can show its got a charge, but it has no capacity. Have you performed a load test on the battery? Just a few things to check or clairify.
