for those of you who have an 07 with the SE air cleaner, how far does the assembly stick out from the motor and do you see part of your air filter?? ive got mine on, but im thinking it should look different.... thanks.
i can only see the black back of the filter if i poke my head in close. i cannot see the actual filter mesh and fibers... i can also stick my finger in behind the cover and feel the filter.. just wondering if i got it right.. i follow the directions all the way, but something just doesnt feel/look right.
yeah I thought the same thing and made about the same post after I put mine on.... you'll get used to the feeling.... just make sure like the other guy said that you take the black rubber thing off because if you don't and you ride and just see it hanging there... you'll probably flip out... it's not like it happened to me or anything [:@]
glad i read this post because i ordered mine and it should ship in the next couple of days, so now i know what to expect. About how long did it take to install ,also did you install the screaming eagle logo on the can ? I may have to ride it for a couple of days until i can get it to the dealer for a remap , will this be a problem , i already have python 3 slip ons
not sure about the remap with slip ons (i installed mine with V&H short shots and a fuelpak), but it took about 1 hours to install b/c i took my time... it was real easy tho. i didnt have a torque wrench so i just tightened the bolts a little more than snug.. in lbs is what you will need if you intend to tighten to factory specs.
i also ended up putting the SE badge on... although i may go back to the 1200 one.. who knows.

The remap would be needed because of the air cleaner , not beccause of the slip ons , at least that is what seems to be the concensus
