Fatster, such as wider front forks, front & rear rims, fenders, fuel tank?
You may be on your own as there may be not "catch all" DIY guide.
I can say from reading other posts that a wider rear tire is a big project requiring swing arm, rear frame upper rails and front engine sprocket modifications.
Is there any reference material that would give me insight into turning my 16 Superlow into a Fatster?
That bike is not a good starting point IMHO! A better model would be a 48 or recent Custom. However just what do you have in mind as a final build? Give us some ideas we can work with. If you want fat wheels similar to a 48 you will need to change wheels, possibly front forks.
From talking to others, they said just put floor boards, a split tank like whats on a Soft Tail and Apes. The wider front forks and wider front tire might be a possibility too. Didnt know if anyone has done such a project and has pictures.
I am very curious and would like the details and tips to how you went about to mount the fat boy front end kn your sportster. Any modifications to the forks? Modifications to the neck? did you use the stock brake assembly from your sporty? Aftermarket wheels? (The solid fat boy wheels personally look goofy to me) And if you have any pictures of the mods you did would be extremely helpful! As well as other tips and tricks you might find fairly important.
