i am going to install 8 inch apes on my 2018 iron 883, my question is, do i have to replace the brake line or can i just unbolt the line completely and leave it freely and would reach the new bars?
I would replace the brake line at least. I put 8" biltwell chumps on my iron when I first got it and ran the stock brake line, overstretches too much for comfort and ruins the paint on the front fender that it rubs against.
Ended up replacing all my cables once I went with the 12" bars a couple months after that.

did you run the line unbolted? and rerouted? it looks like it would have enough play to move freely if unbolted or is that a hard no lol
