On a previousthread bars and risers were discussed. I'm looking to geta 1200L. Like the midcontrols 'cause I'm short but the thing I'm not crazy about is the short riser and the headlight eyebrow. Much prefer the setup on a 1200 custom with the swept back riser (which also hides the wires). I've looked in my catalogue and can't find that riser. Anybody know where to get one and what problems it might entail in putting it on a 1200L?
That pullback riser (like the one I had on my custom and got rid of) is a tough one to come by. You can find them on ebay occasionally and most range between $100-200 used (sold mine for $125). I don't have the part number but if you go to the dealer and look in their parts manual not the catalog for the 1200 custom you should find it, but if I recall correctly someone said they run something like over $400. As for the headlight brow you can just get a new headlight& mount (not sure if you can flip the stock one) and drill your lower tree to move it there. You can also just get the chrome tree cover from the custom cna bolt it to where the brow/visor used to be.
There would be no conceivable problems in changing your stock riser to the one from the custom (I went the opposite way and changed to 2" straight risers, old style XL/Dyna gauge mount and apes).
Auto,
I appreciate it. I've always liked your bike. In fact, it was your bike that got me into the black & white 2 tone. I actually saw one at the dealer when they first came out and didn't much care for it. I think after seeing your bike, especially with the mods (the brawler really makes it work) that's the color(s) I want!
Thanks
