Destroyed baffle removal help
Hey yall
My bike has been sitting for a couple of years and I decided to kinda put it back together to a nice running state.
I have V&H Short shots with quiet baffles in it and want to install super quiet baffles
Long story short, quiet baffles stuck as **** in the pipes. I tried everything to pull the top one off. I could notice it sliding back a bit, only to find out that the tip of the baffle (tack welded to the rest of it) had broken off.
So, I am left with 3/4 of a quiet baffle stuck in my pipe, with absolutely nothing to grab on to try and pull it out more
i am scratching my head on how to approach this
Would heating up the pipe make it easier to pull it off ?
Any help will be appreciated
thx

A picture may help.
If the baffle installed, even if a part of it broke off, the remaining baffle should slide out.
Perhaps where it broke off the metal bent and is jamming against the pipe...I pointed needle and hammer may be needed to bent that metal back so the baffle can slide out.
But my first thought is you need a better or custom modified "grabber" tool.
WD40, Liquid Wrench...yes.
Heat... no (will discolor the pipes maybe deform the pipe metal).
All FWIW...good luck.

turns out brute force was the answer !
info in case it happens to you:
the bottom part of the baffle had broken off (tack welded) and I was left with just the mesh to grab on. I grabbed it with pliers, and while I applied pressure I put the pliers into my vice, really tight (distorded the pliers). I then proceeded to hammer the pipe off, hitting on piece of wood placed on the mounting bracket.
Took me a while but heh, got to yank on some **** on a week end !
