Default Coil relocation/engine mount

Hey all,

Hoping for some feedback or personal experience on this one. Last season I relocated my ignition coil using a bracket from Kinetic Motorcycles. Unfortunately, this bracket and coil proved too heavy for the stock engine mount (previously for choke/stock horn) and I have since gone through two of these stock mounts that snapped off while on a ride. Safety wire saved my *** on both these rides but I'd like to find a more permanent and sturdy solution.

This, and similar brackets from other shops, is exactly what I am looking for but all seem to state it will not work with left side petcocks. http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/tc-bro...1986-2003.html

Has anyone tried to use these successfully with left side petcocks? My petcock is not stock, but is mounted on the left side. This is what I have: https://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/round...iABEgL0H_D_BwE

Thanks in advance! Currently getting all my repairs/parts ordered and planned as riding season in Chicago is right around the corner!

Jackie

Did you look at DK Customs? Sponsor here and they have great stuff. I had a relocation on my 2015 Forty-Eight and had no issues.

Thanks for the replies! I have thought about DK, but does that relocation bracket also mount to the stock engine mount? I cannot tell based on their site/photos.

Looks like it uses the two holes in the heads, not sure what else. Could always just call them and ask...

call DK or drop em an email. they have super friendly and helpful customer service. Here's what I did with my mount, used a big twin bracket and made some modifications to the mount. ran my choke through the center of the spot that most people put the ignition. I wanted the coil set up to have some appeal

Give us a holler, if you have not already.

We've been making these for over a decade, they have a Lifetime Warranty because we over engineer them to last. I think you have a '95, so it does mount to the engine mount. It will not break.

There are a lot of folks, including who you originally mentioned, that have copied us, but they make it cheaper, so they can sell it cheaper...and a lot of times they break. These machines generate an amazing amount of harmonic vibration that will fatigue the metal...and over time, under engineered parts will fail.

Here's a LINK to the installation instructions, so you can know exactly how it mounts.

Feel free to give us a call or an email with any questions.
