I have a 2019 HD Iron 883 and am trying to wire up an amp to my bike. I am familiar with splicing wires but I’m not an expert so I need abit if guidance before I start cutting things. I believe I have found the accessory wires and was thinking about splicing directly into there however I notice they were already wired with a connector and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the other piece so that I can easily disconnect if needed, or would this even work to begin with. Any tips anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I am not going to do a switch, I just want the amp to turn on with the ignition. Thanks In advance.
First thing is to check if that socket is live, when your ignition is switched on! You simply need a multimeter or test light to do that. If it is live then you have your solution. Your local friendly Harley dealer should be able to supply the components for the mating half, but they are standard industry components, so you can also check on-line for auto electrical suppliers.
