Default Loose wire hanging under frame

Trying to sort out where this wire connects. It is thin, single wire looks to be off white under the black sleeve. Has a male round connector but it is not connected. Noticed it when replacing an old oil drain line. Will attempt to post a pic.

So what doesn't work on the bike ? The best thing to do is check the wire colour (s) and then study the during diagram.

Or, if you can get a hold of it from the top try to move it to different parts of the bike and see if you can find it's mate? If it comes from the top?

From the looks of the build-up on that connector, it hasn't been coupled to anything for awhile. Everything working on the bike? If so, let it be & ride-on!

engine light & battery light will come on intermittently, have to keep it on a tender if i want the battery to maintain a charge, clutch drags half the time (tho i doubt that is related )

Battery needs to be connected to a tender or it loses charge after about 3 days of riding, although it sat for a month waiting on me to fix the oil drain line/hose and still fired up. Im thinking it may be some sort of ground? Emphasis on the ?

the wiring diagrams i have looked at are, lets say difficult to understand :/

If the wire is TAN in colour it's from the neutral switch but I'm sure you would have noticed the light not working. As others have suggested it might be an obsolete wire to a non existent side stand switch .
