How do I remove this silver threaded piece so I can replace the black box that is clearly leaking, thanks!
Unless I'm mistaken , that is very firmly crimped on and does not look removable . If it unscrews from the black bit then I suppose you would grip it very gently with a Vice Grip and turn it .
As the other chaps have commented. If there is any leak in that brake line, simply replace the entire thing. It is cheaper to buy a braided line, which will also improve braking feel, so you gain more than just a replacement!

This.
I did the braided lines and it was a very straightforward install. I got mine from Hel; the distributor is in PA and he was very helpful. The brakes felt firmer, and of course these lines look way better than the rubber stockers.
That is a one piece but you can alter them as I did a few times while installing apes. I think you have ABS on the bike so the
braded line in one piece is not an option. Just cut of the small pipe, dril a larger hole in it and tap some thread in it to put in
a banjo bolt and you can mount whatever brakeline you want.
This is an example from what I did with one....
This one got an extended bushing for the banjo bolt.
