I'm wanting to install my clipons above the tripple tree on my 16 roadster if possible. I had them below for a while but my back was not likeing it for extended rides. if I only had one hand on the bar and held the throttle with my finger tips. my back was ok but don't like rideing with that little of my hand on the bar. I recently had a thought if I could mount them above the tripple tree. it be at the right height and would not hurt my back. And would help give me that minimal low profile look I'm going for. I got some black bars that are just like stock from bitwell on there now and they are not doing it for me. My thought is I would slide the forks through the tripple tree just enough to mount the clipons. are there any issues I will encounter if I try and do it this way.
They are called Clip-on for a reason. They clip onto the fork tubes. Just get drag bars.
I don't want drag bars and I already have the clip ons. so they cost me nothing to put back on. and they would still be cliped on to the fork tubes. it just be on top of the tripple tree instead of under.
tubes need to extend up above the triple tree to clip them on.....but now your front end is lower, you went down 2"s and now clip ons are 2"s higher.........same and your back still hurts
If you put regular clips on above the tree you'll be lowering the front a fair bit. Try Apex clip ons.
I looked on there web site these deffinuntly would get the job done. but they only go up to 50mm on the size list. the roadster has 55mm forks. witch you appear to have a roadster as well what did you get.

mine are Apex, I bought it 2 yrs ago though. You can try Woodcraft clip ons. Same concept but not as adjustable as the Apex
... I was able to add Apex 55mm clip ons to cart at sportbiketrackgear:
You have problems reaching your current clip-ons. Those 'riser clip-ons' are higher than your current ones, but I suspect you will find they are also further away, so may not solve the problem. Take a close look at the way they mount, relative to the tree and tank. I agree with the suggestion you try drag-bars - a little closer and a little higher. That or spend more time riding your current set-up and get better used to it! I'm in my 70s, but still ride my Firebolt with stock set-up.....

I'm looking at the Apex website and I see a 55mm option in the Size pulldown menu...
