Question Fork protectors blades

Is there any suitable fork protectors of this style for Sportster Superlow?
These parts for other bikes are usually made of black plastic. Chrome or stainless steel (as on this picture) could be good for Sportster.

Are those actually fork protectors or just fork bling designed to separate me and my money?

What is that supposed to protect the forks from? The sun, the moon, wind, crash ..... I give up. Just a useless stupid bobble. Now I have to try to stop my Wife laughing so hard she's hyperventilating!

They protect forks surface from gravel and sandblast, lifted by wind and other vehicles wheels.
On my previous Honda fork was unprotected, consequently front surface of forks was covered with numerous small scratches.
On Aprilia I installed a pair of neoprene socks (as on this picture), and fork chrome was in perfect condition.
Well, that Honda was manufactured in China, and Aprilia is real Italian, this can make a difference, who knows.

I'm not exactly sure what the merits of fork shields are but they are standard equipment on the Kawasaki ER5 or Twister as it's known in the US .

You initially showed a picture of forks with some kind of protector at the slider tube then you show a picture of a sock protecting the slider. What do you want to protect?

The sliders on bikes has been the same for at least 45 years and once the clear coat is compromised the alloy tarnishes with the obvious eyesore detraction to the overall look of a bike.

Remove the clear coat and polish the sliders or get them painted either of which will be much easier to maintain and will surely look better than that neoprene sock on a Sportster.

The " Sock " is also protecting the stanchions not the sliders .
