Default Almost Dropped Her

Last night I started up my bike and took her for a quick ride since she has been in the garage for a week or so due to the weather. When I got back I took it out in the driveway and polished everything all up before I put her away and put the cover on. So when I got done I drove down the driveway to turn around and come back to go into the garage. At the bottom of the driveway I took the turn a tad too tight and a tad too slow and she started going over. So I didn't panic and just put my back into it and pulled it back up but if the highway peg hadn't been there I would have dropped it. A couple cars went by while I was pulling it back up so I felt like a jackass but o'well.

Lesson learned.

One of my best friends who's been riding as long as I have washed his bike the other day and went to put it away and forgot the kickstand was up and dropped his bike on its side. This guy's had numerous bikes throughout the years, so this is not just something that happens to newbies or whatever.

I've never done it yet (knock on wood), but I'm sure it could happen to me as well. I don't believe I've ever dropped any of my bikes from a stopped position yet, but I have my Lindbar on my bike just for this reason in case it ever happens with my injured legs giving out on me someday. I've dropped them plenty of times when I was riding them, however, especially my old enduros and MX's.

My friend's dad years ago leaned his brand new Yamadog 650 against a fence, and it ended up crushing the gas tank. Needless to say he was ticked.

We were lining our 4 bikes up to get pic. (before the one we sold went away) There is pic on my profile for those interested. My dumb a$$ didn't look before putting stand down right in a hole. I'm 5ft 5 170#. She didn't go down all the way but damn, my heart sure went up to choke me. The very 1st time my hubby got the guts to "learn" me how to ride I took a left turn out of our driveway WAY to wide and wound up in the ditch across the road. Scared the hell out outta me when it was done. During all I could think was I'm laying his freshly painted bike down in the ditch. I took a deep breath goosed the heck of it turned the bars, up and out of the ditch. White knuckled it up the road about block where my hubby sat on his wideglide clapping and with a grin. I came really close to putting in the garage and not ever doing it again. But...... If you don't get back on the horse so to speak. Come to find out when he put the baby apes on her he needed a longer throttle cable. I have been riding a year now and thank goodness nad knock on wood I've not had any more issues.
