Unknown cam..?

Default Unknown cam..?

I just opened my son's 1998 Sportster and found cams marked 15-1 24847, 15-2 24701, 15-3 24848 and 15-1 24849.
Those are seemingly some kind of high-perf cams by looking at lobes, but I could not find any information about those.
Does anybody have any information about brand and more importantly figures ?

I think these are the SE "Bolt-In" cams with .497" lift. The same as the Andrews N4s.

I don't think so, as I found OEM number 25648-91 for those cams you mentioned.

neilpp is correct. Most sets of SE .497 bolt-in cams are marked 15-1, 15-2, 15-3, and 15-4. Some sets are marked 1B, 2B, 3B, 4B. The factory guys refer to that grind as the "B" cams.

And yes, they are part number 25648-91 for 91-99 models, and 25648-01 for 2000+ models.

None of those matches by number or lift with my cams. I just measured the lift, and its about 0.480. Mind that I'm talking about 1998 model.

The SE .497 lift bolt-in cams have been around a very, very long time. In fact, Buell shipped tens of thousands of bikes with those cams, factory installed, between 1996 and 2002 (all S1, S3, X1, and international M2 models). So they're are not some kind of a mystery to us, we've seen tons of them over the decades. The 15-1/2/3/4 markings on the SE .497 bolt-ins are very common knowledge in HD & Buell circles.

Likewise, the .536 cams (bottom of that list) are marked 25-1/2/3/4. And the .575 cams (second in the list) are marked 28-1/2/3/4. And the .551 cams (third in the list) are marked SE-1E/2E/3E/4E. All very common knowledge in HD/Buell circles.

If you choose not to believe us, well, that's fine. But you asked, and you were given the correct answer, twice.

This guy did the same kind of thing over in the Evo section with questions on Lienweber cams... Never did hear anything about his findings.. I really wanted to see what he found after w advised.. but never posted findings...
