The one that it is annoying as hell to always put it in neutral, especially if on a hill when neutral is hard to find sometimes, but more than anything on both my other bikes I have removed sidestand and clutch safety switches so I'm used to that being a non-issue. Didn't realize that it was that much of an annoyance till I got this bike.
My 2014 Sportster will start in gear with the clutch pulled in...
This is what I asked 2 days ago about did you note how the switch activates when the clutch is pulled to decide if you should join the wires together or leave them open.
The thing is your bike is CAN and the switch sends a command on the bus it doesn't create a physical circuit. The bus might reset at power on requiring the switch to be cycled in order for the command to be interpreted by the BCM.
NO = normally open. NC = normally closed.

Okay i get it now thanks. I assumed that when the clutch lever was not pulled the switch/sensor was preventing the circuit from being closed. I took the two wires going into the sensor and permanently connected them. Doesn't seem to have affected anything other than now the bike starts as it used to.
