The HD plugs are about Ł135 in the UK.
I have marked the centre of the dowling and have the rod to measure from the locating hole.
I just made a cheaper option.

Yep I did a similar thing but I use Rubber Stoppers instead of dowels and of course a bent rod with a small really really small o-ring to compare one side to the other.....
Clever! and good to pass on, I didn't initially realize that the holes in the rear axle ends on 08+ Sportsters were different sizes. FWIW I found some knockoffs of the ridiculously expensive plugs on Amazon for about $20 IIRC...

I keep searching for the v-twin plugs but they never seem to be available.
What I find strange is motion pro makes the bent bit of wire that will work on bikes where you use the pivot bolt but then didn't follow up with the plugs.
Jims make plugs but they must think they made them out of gold!
