Yeah, riding the bike the other day, came out of a store I stopped at and the bike was on it's side. Somone either pushed it, or hit it with a car, but there's no damage to the left side to indicate that.
Here's what I have to get:
-Rear right turn signal housing/ lense-
-New pipes (needed them anyway, blued...
-Kury throttle grip
-front brake control assebly (m.c. and all)
-mirrors
the only thing I have having a hard time finding is the turn signals. I want to get smoked lenses now and a lay down smoked tail, but I can't find any turn signal housings or lenses for an '83. Are the '86 lenses the same, I see those everywhere.....
RE: My bike KNOCKED OVER!!! help finding parts....
Been there. Done that. This spring at Myrtle a motel employee backed in to my covered bike and knocked it over. They picked it back up, recoverd the bike and didn't even try to find me. Luckily, about 6 hours later, a guest from next door told me about it. The driver had no license or proof of insurance. I ended up making a cash settlement.

I had that happen with another bike I owned in the year 2000. I parked behind an suv at a meter and they couldn't see my bike out the back of thier vehicle. They backed up and knocked it over, then took off. t was in a very crowded areaand no one got the license plate number. there was an ambulance that saw the whole thingbut didn't get the plate number. Lesson learned on that one. Never park in the same spot with an suv unless it is mine.

That is one SWEET Ironhead! I love the old bikes. Dont fool with the dealers for parts..they dont carry anything for old bikes. Go to J&P Cycles online...they have everything for old bikes. Price are great also.
RE: My bike KNOCKED OVER!!! help finding parts....
OK, found the one turn signal housing and smoked lenses, they are on the way. The problem is they are already updated to '86+ units and I didn't realize it. There was alot done in an older resto of this bike before I got it that I am not 100% sure of.
Also ordered a smoked, laydown tailight. I've always thought that with the gray paint it would look great with smoked lenses, just never got around to it.
I am ordering a set of slim buillit chrome mirrors I found with built in LED turn signals tomorow, then will get rid of the signals on my fork.
Just need to figure out which hand control setup to go with. I want to have the bike on the road again by Tuesday or Wednesday this week.........any suggestions?
Anyone here running a Sporty this old? What do you have for hand controls?
RE: My bike KNOCKED OVER!!! help finding parts....
Sweet Ironhead!!! I have a set of 4 of the lenses and housings from my 96 that I would have given to you for the cost of shipping... Bu tthey are all ambers. Sounds like you got better ones...
Get it back together and post some more pics! I love those old ironheads!!!
