05 Roadster Start Up Problem
I just bought an 05 Roadster which seemed to be working perfectly, rode it home and all.
I went to go start it up 2 days later and it makes a horrible clicking noise at start up and refuses to crank. I attached a video of what it sounds like in this thread. Does anyone know what might be the issue? Tried to jump it as well with no luck.
Here's a link to the video: https://streamable.com/y2zcrn

Buy a battery tender
Buy a multi meter
And prove the battery to be functional or dysfunctional first.
Once charged even if it does start check with multimeter on 12 volts or closest to .. make sure it doesn't drop below 10 volts when cranking to start. Thats what I was told anyway. If it does then battery is on its way out. Also check your negative ground cable from the battery to the BIKE. Its the actual ground connection not the battery terminal that I'm referring to. My brother in law had a very intermittent problem it would start some days struggle others.... charged battery one day... totally dead the very next not even 12 hours later ..... one night he loses power... lights ...everything! Absolute zero. Never seen a bike this dead.... thoughy it was the battery but even a low battery will show signs of life....and I was armed with a multimeter so i proved it to be fully charged. After a long walk and some cellphone flashlighting around just inspecting connections and following cables.. we see the negative cable has completely cracked off. My hypothesis was that the negative cable had a hairline crack in it where it connects to the bolt and was getting worse all the time... as I sat there touching it back together... I would hear the speedo register power and then lose it register power and then loose it... if a cracked and bad connection allowed that to continue for 12 hours that's how he could discharge a battery so quick. Also why it would intermittently give us a hard time starting like as if the battery was dead.... needs alot of amps to crank.

He's selling as a set. You will pay nearly this much for just the service manual. Great deal. Like having a mechanic in your garage... has all the answers. you just have to learn how to ask it the right questions...
Will pay for itself the first time you use it
