On my 2013 XL1200C, 4.5 gallon tank, I get about 148 (average) miles before the low fuel light comes on.
(range of 97 to 185 miles)
I normally fill with a little over 3 gallons.
Most of my riding is on state highways, mostly 50-60 mph speed limits.
My average MPG has been just over 50MPG.
It seems to me the 4.5 gallon tank actually holds closer to 4 gallons filled to the bottom of the gas cap recess.
The 2013 models the owner's manual shows the low fuel light comes on at 1 gallon left for 4.5 gallon tank.

(doesn't work on some 883 models with 1200 conversions)
By the way, love the yellow !!! I have a 2011 TriGlide and get 160-170 miles before low light. They say it should have a gallon left at that point on a 6 gal capacity.
Funny when I first came across bike I was crazy about color. But its for a 16hr old girl and so I thought maybe .
I tricked her snd asked what shed think If I painted her Suzuki yellow. She paused and said I dont know, what would a yellow bike look like?
I then just googled yellow sportster in front of her and she said I think I like it actually.
So I went and picked it up. It was very dJett.
But discovered that much like my Big Blue Pearl Dyna, this yellow has tons of pearl and flake. Its really nice in person.
Shes over the moon about it.
If you have the stock speedo and not a fuel gauge then the low fuel light is a simple float actuated switch in the tank.
It is a standard gauge.
I figured it was float. When I rode it home it came on, then off again as I turned. Reminded me of a riding mower gauge 😂😂
Figured it couldnt be extremely accurate.
Guess this thing could go another 50-60 miles with light on.
Scared to test it

I like the **** out if that gauge. Didnt know it was available. Thanks
On my 2012 1200c stage 1 set up, the light comes on about 100 miles in i have gone 170 miles and it has taken 4.2 gallons too fill.
now on that note when it was that low the engine would act like the rev limiter was in play and not let me hard accelerate or go over 70mph once i filled up rode as normal

interesting .170 seems about right based on my numbers
just couldnt see light on as early as 115
Guess I could always take a day when weve ridden normal snd almost home and almost out of gas, throw a can in the car and have the wife follow me around on it till it shuts off
ill know for sure then

That's probably true. Last time the low fuel light comes on my RK showing 58 miles left so it's more than 1 gallon.
