So is the HDservice manager correctwhen he saysif you just putScreaming Eagle pipes on it you don'tneed the Air Cleaner ($140 HD price) and you don'tneed to Dyno it or anything since it is Fuel Injected andit will sense the change on it's own and adjust the mixtur ANDgain horsepower?
Yes, yes, yes, maybe. I very much doubt that there will be much of a horsepower increase, at least not that you will feel. I know LOTS of folks will line up to tell you how their bike runs better/faster/cleans windows after simply doing the exhaust but I've not seen very many dyno sheets or time slips that lead me to believe it's a cost-effective horsepower gain. The ***-2000 dyno is notriously unreliable and easily affected by the subjectivity of the operator. Do it if you like the looks and/or sound of the new pipes but that would be the only thing for sure you would be able to count on.

If the Screaming Eagles reduce back preassure versus stock pipes, that would allow more air to flow into the cylinders at intake which would increase the amount of fuel/air compressed for power, right?
Yes in theory. The main restriction on a stock bike is the air cleaner so that's where some more significant gains may be found. It used to be said you could get 10 HP by changing pipes, air cleaner, and rejetting. I'd be pretty surprised to see that large of a gain anymore with EFI without one of the tuning methods and some dyno time.

Again: it's "safe", and you will get some increased power - but it's not going to make it a new bike (except for the sound).

I had the screamin eagle pipes on my 07 with the stock air cleaner. It ran fine. Deeper sound, but not too loud. No horsepower gain though.

I switched to Rhinehardt exhaust. Very loud and deep sound. K&N air filter. The bike ran like crap! I had to install a Cobra FI2000 digital fuel processor. The bike runs great now.

As far as horsepower gains? You really can't tell the difference. At least I can't tell between 67hp and 75 hp and most people can't either.

It's a very expensive route to just add a deeper and louder sound to a bike. Is it really worth $600 - $1000 time you are done with the exhaust, air cleaner, fuel management and maybe a dyno? Don't count on big horse power gains liek everyone states. 5-8 horsepower is all you will get!

you can't tell the difference after adding almost 10 horses? I know I can.

+1 for Dano. Do yourself a favor and change the A/C and Pipes with a PCIII or something like that. EVERY BIKE IS DIFFERENT.(they can be same model and year)&nbsp\\;One may say they had no problems with an exhaust change and no remap while someone else did a have problems after the change and needed remapped.&nbsp\\;It may cost you more money to do it this way, but you will be better off for it. I just put Shortshots and A/C change with PCIII. It woke my bike up. Sounds,Looks and runs fantastic. Runs ALOT cooler also...

I went with Vance and Hines Python 3's with nothing else and found no major problems as far as how the my bike ran. I went over into the tech section to research the other items for a stage 1. Check out the thread on nightrider xied's. Lot of very well qualified folks have tested them on a huge list of various configurations. Documented the temp decrease on both front and rear, and the gains in power. I installed the SE A/C with the nightrider xied's. Not technical minded enough to tell you about any decrease in temp, but low end throttle response has improved greatly. The xied's were 103.99 shippled to me, so the cost to complete the stage 1 was 140.00 for A/C and 103.99 for xied's. Not to bad, and I love the sound on my Python 3"s. But as a lot have said, stay away from the SE pipes. Not any sound improvement what so ever.

I'm thinking about just putting pipes on myself.&nbsp\\; The consensus I've gotten from the local stealer is that you must have intake and SERT to run right without voiding the entire engine warranty.&nbsp\\; Good to see it's working out for you.
