Default Touch-up Paint Cost

My recently acquired 2008 XL1200L is in excellent condition, with around 5K miles. The only ding is a small chip/scratch that is on the front fender, about an inch long. The color of the fenders is a metallic called "Crimson Red Sunglo". I've never had a professional painter fix anything on a bike. What kind of $$ would I be looking at to have it done right? Thanks.

That question is better asked at your local body shop ... Get a couple of references ... Having said that sometimes you can find a close match at your local beauty supply in the nail polish department ... Just a thought ... Good Luck

I've found these PPG codes for Crimson Red Sunglo, they might be of use to you.

918333 Red Base.
918333-2 Pearl Top Coat.

I bought a set of touch up paint from dealer a few weeks ago for my vivid black RK. $40 include the paint and clear coat.

Some auto parts stores have a big assortment of touch up paint in nail polish sized bottles, odds are good that you can find something fairly close.

According to Color Rite you need the base and then the color. All kinds of options here.

Be unique, put a band-aid over the boo-boo and call it a day. Better yet, put a couple of those bullet hole decals on it.

I have some experience here. You'll find that an autobody probably won't do a job this small.
1) This industry is also experiencing labor shortage and backed up. So big buck jobs get prioritized. Small jobs get punted. (Even in normal times I've found body shops don't want my small parts biz)
2) The cost to blend that ding with that color the "right way" would possibly cost more than just finding a new/used fender that's perfect.

For these reasons the above posters have some great DIY answers.
