Default Metzeler ME888 'Marathon' orange sidewall tyres?

Has anyone had Metzeler ME888 'Marathon' tyres fitted on their Sportster?

I'm going to recommision my 2011 XL883N after it being off the road during the Covid-19 pandemic, it still has the stock H-D branded Michelin "Scorcher" tyres so they are now eleven years old and I no longer trust them on the road. I've seen the Metzeler ME888 with the orange sidewall and I think they'll suit the black and orange fuel tank emblems that I have on my Iron 883. I certainly don't want another pair of Michelin's as I've never rated them very highly for performance especially on wet roads.

The Metzeler's are just over Ł302 a pair here in the UK which I'm prepared to pay for decent performing tyres. Any advice about the ME888's woiuld be well appreciated, my other option would be Avon Cobra's.
Thank you in advance..

I just had to order a new rear tire. I'm a bit shocked at the price hike
this time. I went with Michelin Commander III. $220.00 USD
Wow. I just don't remember tires being so expensive (for this size)

All that really matters is whether YOU like them or not.
(orange on tires is not my taste)

Good luck with whatever you choose to use....

I've found that everything we buy here in the UK has shot up in price, especially the cost of food and heating our homes, families are having to choose between heating their homes and eating. There are food banks opening up all over the Britain these days even in affluent areas as well as the poorer ones. The retailers are blaming the price hikes on the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit (Britain leaving the European Union).

Times are harder today in the UK than they were during WW2 when food was rationed, at least nobody went hungry during the war.

The last time I bought a pair of motorcycle tyres, I got a pair of Pirelli Demon Sport's for for my Benelli 900 Sei at just under Ł100.

Thank you for your reply, I realise that orange sidewall tyres aren't to everyone's taste, but black and orange are the colours of the Harley-Davidson Racing Team.

Actually the orange looks pretty cool on that thing.
Been using the ME880 and then the ME888 for about 8 years now.
Haven't tried anything else really as I like the WWW and I'm very comfortable with the performance of them!

I have the ME888’s (without orange sidewalls) on my 2005 XL1200R and they are great tires! Tar strips in the road and bridge grates are easily gone over without realizing they’re there. Very good mileage as well, overall a GREAT tire.

Thank you very much, that's just the information that I was asking for, I'll probably go for the orange sidewall ME888 tyres and have them fitted in either March or April.
