Default Help: 883n 2019 Fork Oil Drain w/o Disassembly

Hey guys,

I'm installing the progressive spring and I would like to change the fork oil of my 883N 2019. I saw a lot of videos that people reference a small screw in the fork that you can use to drain it. The problem is that my 883N does not have this screw.

In the video bellow, he did, but does not show how and also I think his Iron is 2014 or early.

Here the fork diagram and it does mention any draining screw.

2013 is the last year w/ fork drain screws AFAIK...so that means you will have to remove the caps then the fork legs and invert them to drain the oil, pumping the slider helps with this. A bit more work but not difficult...

I have not done this, but maybe investigate if an inexpensive siphon pump or suction gun from harbor freight would be help get the fluid out without removing the forks.

I have a pump used for gas, that also can be used for oil. I can remove the spacer and washer, but Im not sure if the pump's hose will reach the bottom of the fork or there is other thing on the way like the damper tube or other thing that can be on the way and will keep some old oil there.

I finish the work, remove the fork drained it and put screaming eagle oil. The new spring was the progressive 1 inch drop-in, it was really challenge for a weekend enthusiast, my son helped me, but we had to be creative to deal with the spring compression. Manual has all specs you need, any place you think it should be measured, manual has it, like the stop fork space, thread size for the left cap on that internal bolt and oil level from the top. It also provides correct order of disasable and assembly, recommend to read the entire section one time and double check it step later.

The only easy part was that the spacers from the drop-in kit came in exactly match for my bike, no cuts needed.
