I have the HD quick release but, I keep mine on all the time, never know when you are just riding around the cityand then decide to hit the x-way. Keeps bugs and rain from peltting you. It also holds my w/s bag where I keep cell phone and keys..etcwhile riding. Also it is nice at night not to have to wear clear glasses if I choose not to do so(probably not recommended) Just my preference.

Its about 70/30 for me, 70% on for lots of hwy. miles, inrain or highwinds, winter or colder weatherand riding with the Mrs., the other 30% it's off around town and summer months but getting stung in the face with bugs, hornets etc. at 50+ mph. sucks not to mention rocks thrown from mowers on the side of the state hwy. that will shatter your shatterproff glasses. Love the look without but very practical with.

I always ride with a windshield and after riding to Sturgis and back I know why it was solid covered think how much would have been in my eyes without it

Deltasierra, do you have the quick release sideplates on your Sporty? If so, what saddlebags to you have and how do they mount? I see you relocated the rear turnsignals.
