Awesome seat! Most likely will get one soon. How much better is it over stock?

Wimp! [sm=joke.gif] I have NOT heard a single negative comment on the comfort of the Sundowner. You realize the problem I PERSONALLY would have with it, but that has to do with inseam issues and not comfort. I say just go for it! If you can find one in stock at one of our "local" HD shops, you can get it on for the ride next Sunday!

O.k. here's one. I only bolt my sundowner on when I know I'm goingto be carrying a passenger for some miles (its a helluva lot more comfortable for them than the stock seat). I don't like it myself, I always seem to sliding forward on it somehow & have to keep deliberatly pushing myself back. it also looks bloody ugly on my 883R (IMHO!) behind that peanut tank. They dont look so out of place behind the larger 'custom' tanks & the forward controls on the custom may stop you sliding forward, I wouldn't know!

I just got mine two days ago. Finally got oneoff Ebay for $190.This thing is huge! It's by far the most comfy seat I've tried. There is no doubt in my mind that I can ride longer, more comfortably. It's also gotgood lower back support.I can launch off the line without sliding off the back, unlike my solo seat! My solo seat is pretty comfy most of the time, but for longer rides and 2 up,I'll throw the Sundowner on.Get one, you'll love it!

I'm with Centurion on this one. I feel like I'm sliding forward on it and it puts the boys on the tank in a hard stop. It is fairly confortable, but no more than the stocker. I put it on just for the wife. I think the Roadster has a different seat than yours though, so it might be more confortable for you. Don't pay any attention to the instructions about removing your sissy bar pad. Just put it on with the rear off to the side, flex the seat in the middle, slide it under the pad, then lock it down.

Well...I was referring to the comfort of the seat, but now that you mention it, appearance does seem to be a common negative among some. And I'llagree with you that a narrow bike with a narrowtank doesn't look especially good with a fat, cushy seat. A little more throttle will keep you back in the seat, though!

Seriously, I'll try to remember your comment mentioned it slid you forward enough to be annoying. I can certainly understand that being rather aggravating. You want to SIT on the seat, not feel like you're standing on the pegs with it, trying to stay in the "pocket"! I'd say that's a valid complaint, and absolutely affects comfort.

Ah, o.k., I was reading that thread but I guess I stopped before the sliding forward issue came to bear. I knew about the raising up and pushing forward; I just didn'tknow about the SLIDING forward. That's different! I don't stand corrected, but educated. I'm better informed. NOW,I've heard some negative comments about it. But it still seems to be overwhelmingly positive for the Sundowner, regardless.

I sat on an 883 Custom that had the Sundowner seat; I was checking simply for positioning with my short legs to the ground and to the forward controls. Raised me up a bit too much, and when sitting in the bucket, back a little. With mid-mount pegs it would be good in the fore and aft department. Obviously couldn't determine any sliding issues on the showroom floor, but it felt pretty comfortable except for raising the seat height (I actually need it lowered from stock, but I can ride it stock height).

How much better? With the stock seat, I could do about 4 hours a day MAX seat time, and then it was a painful experience. With the Sundowner, I can and have done 12 hours a day seat time. No problems. It's a great seat!
