Default Sumping?

So now that my bike is running good since I figured out the ignition relate problem. All of my oil has drained into the crankcase. It's not returning to the oil bag. The bike sat for 5 years prior to my ownership. No oil in the motor or I'm guessing very little while sat since the oil bag wasn't even on the bike. I've heard the check valve in the oil filter housing could be the culprit? Anyhow. How do I get the oil out of the crankcase. There is enough that it was puking out the breather. Can I remove the timing plug or oil filter and crank the bike until it comes out?

The return gerotor on the pump should send it to the tank. Maybe your return oil line is plugged? You can turn the motor over with the return line off and pump out the crankcase. If the pump gerotor intake is clogged and that doesn't work, more work is needed. The filter is on the feed side, so removing it does nothing to clear the sump. Best shot is to use the return gerotor and return line.

Good luck.
