Hey, here's a thought... If you're ever working on your throttle cables around the tube,
please take a photo of your tube & post it. Maybe someone could spot what the differences are...

thanks!

The MoonsMC aluminium throttle tube showed up yesterday night, but today is
cold and rainy, so I have basically nothing to report other than the tube 'looks good'....

oh well, waiting for a warmer day....

Got the new tube installed this morning, but like an idiot, I dropped both brass ferrules
last night and couldn't find them. SO, I had to make a trip this morning to the 'local' HD dealer
for some new ones. OUCH! $12.95 for the two...

While I was at the HD dealer, I noticed they had 12 Pan Americas, ~8 new (2021-2022) Irons,
a bunch of 'used Irons & FourtyEights. What I did notice, was there were no new Nightsters
or new Sportster S models. The parts guy told me that they sell them as soon as they come in
the door.....

Anyway, I get home & DANG! I find the dropped ferrules... Oh well, just my kind of luck lately...
I have not gone out on a test ride since it's raining right now...

EDIT: forgot to mention that I went with the MoonsMC Diamond Ripper grips too.
The Kuryakyn ISO grips just didn't seem appropriate anymore - too thick....

Weather cleared up, so I went out for a quick ride.
All I can say is wow! Fun times! I'll be getting one
of these for my Softail now too.

Here's a pic with the new grips...

Miles of smiles ....

Two thoughts on your stock bike observations at the dealer:
1. If I was a Harley Dealer, I'd order up as many air-cooled Sportsters as my credit line would allow. I'd have a Stage III demo bike, with short shots on it. By this time next year, when they are all gone from the factory and other dealers, I'd be the last guy on the block who could sell brand-new air-cooled Sportys; and you could close the sales just by cranking up the demo bike, and lettin' folks listen to it.

2. That said, I'm not surprised the new bikes are going so fast. I have a 2020 Sportster 1200, and a '22 Sportster S. If the S had one more inch of rear suspension (2 would be better), and if I could make it sound like the air-cooled 1200, it would be just about perfect. Even without those changes, its a really nice ride. (And if you put it in Sport mode, it's like having a quick throttle.)

UPDATE: So the weather was 'nice' today, so I went out for a quick ride. I really like this 'quick throttle' !

To be more specific, the 1-2 and 2-3 'speed' shifts resulted in air under the front tire... Wow,
I've never intentionally had that happen. Cool!

I'm having fun with this!
