Hello this is my first post. I ride a 2007 Nightster with V&H Big Radius 2-2 exhaust. Just recently the fuel pack wires got messed up and I trusted someone to fix it who made the problem worse. When I took off the fuel pack my bike runs like **** and is popping and backfiring after a few minutes going down the road. My question is is there anything that I can do to make it run better until I'm able to afford a new fuelpak? It's killing me not being able to ride since I do ride year around. Any help would be great thank you.
Which fuelpak device do you have? Does it connect to the data link connector? Your description suggests it is a piggy back tuner which either "fools" the ECM into injecting more petrol or it extends the injector pulse.
Where is the wires messed up exactly? Has the wiring loom been damaged to the injectors?
If you need to buy a new tuning device do some research into a flash tuner device that once it has done its job it can be removed.
