This comment made me remember that I am running all 10 disks in my exhaust. I am going to start removing disks and see if I can tune the ping out on the exhaust end. The more disks the more airflow so 180 is too lean and 185 is too rich I can see if removing some disks richens it up enough.
Maybe tomorrow I will give that a shot. On my way up to the flat track races in Ventura tonight.
i had 20 + open cap on my supertrapp

Yes, I had to dial my 2000i back about 2* per Hammer instructions. The softest curve on the 2000i throws in 30* total advance, and Hammer said no more than 28, so you have to retard 2*, about the width of a line drawn with Sharpie (at least I did) to mark plate position.

It turned out I had 17 disks in there and am running 45/175, so 1 size up from stock on both the pilot and main. I went down to 12 disks and the pinging stopped and the hesitation came back a bit and the plugs looked rich. I added 2 more disks back and I didn't get any pinging, even without octane booster, but there is still an slight hesitation if you hold wide open throttle for a bit. I may retard the timing a bit per John's suggestion and see where that lands me but as of now it's the best this bike has run so far.

Per John's suggestion retarded the timing 2 degrees or so and it made the bike hesitate again at WOT but the bike really woke up. Night and day. I threw all the disks I hade (18) on the supertrapp and no more hesitation and the bike really, really woke up. Still pings a little if you hold wide open throttle but that's without octane booster. But to be honest it pings way less than it ever has before so I am gonna scrap the octane booster and just ride it as is. I may try and find 2 more disks to throw on the supertrapp as well as it will hold 20 max.
OP sorry for hijacking your thread but I guess we were still kind of talking about octane booster.
