Are you going to cut the back of it out, and stuff it behind the end of the battery? Or, on top somehow? Could it fit on the open end of the battery (where the holding strap is), when it's slid into place? Is there clearance with the left side cover? Maybe some space to just leave it loose behind the left side cover?

Well I brought a HD lithium so I could put it on top.... Turns out they're the same size as normal batteries, managed to get the tray out, the fourth screw is on the opposite side but you need to force the oil line out the way to get to it with a really long manual hex key. I cut the back off it but the velcro trick it BS as there is a ridge on the oil tank that stops it pushing back that far. with a shoe lace to tie it in I've managed to push the battery back 6mm. Gonna continue later and see if can all fit ...
I 'relocated' the ECM on my 2013 Iron and used an EarthX ETX36C LiFePO4 battery.
I did not need to 'cut down' anything on the battery tray. I velcroed
the ECM to the battery though. Here's a pic of my bike, notice the
clear space behind the rear cylinder where the ECM used to be....
EDIT: this is the piece that was removed behind the rear cylinder.
