Hopefully not as sketchy as it sounds; but Ive got an 01 sporty that had a split on the master cylinder assembly by the brake lever.
While I was inspecting the bike for the season I noticed a crack on the underside by the brake lever housing. I removed the pin holding the lever and the piece broke clean off. It *looks* like it could be JB welded/epoxied back on, but seeing as how its a crucial area would this be a good idea?
That would only be acceptable on the side of the road so you could limp the bike home.
Go on the Bay and find a used replacement. I am sure you know that is the right answer, there are no silver bullets when it comes to fixing motorcycles. Good luck.
