I’m new to this forms site so please excuse me if I’m using it wrong.
i have a 2007 sportster XL1200L and it cranks and starts like new but will only stay running for about 5-6 seconds before it dies out. During that time of running if I try to apply any throttle it dies out immediately. Spark is good and at proper volts, airflow is good and I had just checked and cleared out the aftermarket breather bolts, I had originally thought it was a fuel delivery issue but after changing out the entire fuel system with a new pump, fuel lines, and injectors I can’t say I’ll keep looking into that. It’s operated by an unchipped key so I don’t believe it could be a security issue. I was hoping someone on here would have been through the same issue and if so I would love some help. God bless.
Absolutely no codes come up after it dies and the only modification it has is the open air intake. I did have fresh fuel put in about two weeks ago however that was before I had changed the fuel pump.
How about removing air cleaner and peering into the throttle body or squirt fuel in to see if that keeps it running. If you look back in previous posts, there were some with your symptons which may give you ideas.

Spraying starter fluid into the intake does keep it going which is odd given that I had already changed the entire fuel system. The fuel pressure is good and I had inspected all the wires leading to the injectors where all the wired were in good condition. I have looked through quite a few different forms before making my own post but those that I’ve read had their problems fixed by changing fuel systems or just clearing the breather hoses.
The only reason I had bought the bike was because my buddy couldn’t find out what’s wrong. If it wasn’t for him needing money I wouldn’t have gotten it in the first place because I knew I would have this issue. All he claims was that it stalled out on him on the freeway and wouldn’t stay running for more than a few seconds. I’ve ran through nearly every procedure to find the issue that I could think of.

How did you manage to measure the approximate 25,000 to 40,000 volts? How do you determine spark is good? Plugs can be weak when under engine compression.
How did you determine the air flow is good? Did you start the engine with the air cleaner off to see if the throttle body and IAC is working properly?
As it has a modified air cleaner does it have a tuner device?
Well I’ll say I cleaned the throttle body yes. As for measuring the volts I put a brand new coil in and tested the voltage to that. As for airflow I took of the throttle body and air cleaner and inspected absolutely everything to make sure everything was opening up properly and it does pull in air during that small period of running
