Default 883L

well the wife bought herself an 07 883L, I had the dealer adjust the shocks to their softest and this thing is still pretty rough.
so, I have 2 questions
1st. has any one had any luck using the Progressive Shocks in the 412 Series ? ( are they softer)
2nd. the seat is like a brick are there any aftermarket solo seats available ?
ok 3 questions LOL can the front suspension be adjusted ?
she doesn't want the Sundowner and likes the way the solo seat fits her, there's just no padding.

Hummm...progressive shocks are probably gonna be more firm than the stock shocks.

Aftermarket solo seats, look at the mustang solo, and the corbin. The corbin solo is really nice.

In what way do you want to adjust the front forks? More firm, lower, softer, etc etc?????

she feels like the front isat least partlyto blame as it hits hard ( Michigan roads) so probably softer on the forks.
she loves the bike its very nimble and responds great, itjust needs to be tweeked as she has already had 2 back surgeries.
we were hoping to soften the front and the back and get a softer seat.

It feels like it hits hard because it's bottoming out. I KNOW that feeling. I just changed the fork oil to Screamin Eagle, which is a heavier weight oil, and I'm no longer bottoming out. But the ride is not as soft.

The cornering is better. If she is bottoming out, you don't wanna go softer. You can try the heavier weight fork oil, and if that doesn't help, then go with the progessive springs.

Thanks for all your help guys, all thosethreads helped me find the right seat for the wifes bike. It took a few times measuring her A$$ and the bike but we decided on the Mustang solo standard.
will let you guys know how she likes it in a few days.

she'll be very happy with the Mustang. I can ride for hours and hours and my *** never gets tired - don't know what I would do without it. The folks at Mustang are great people, too - very experienced riders who own a Sportster - among other HD'sso they know what's good.
