I bought a 2020 (MY19) Sportster 1200 Custom (6000 miles on clock) and awaits delivery. Yesterday I again looked at the photos and to my surprise saw it has mid pegs! I'd like to change these to fwd controls.... What extra parts do I need for this conversion?
My partner is out at the moment so no picture but with a bit of a modification by way of a spacer her machine has forward controls as well as mid position footpegs.
Being a trike the mid placed footpegs make getting on nice and easy. Being a Custom the forwards are stock fitment.
I believe would be best to find some used take off mounts. Problem is depending on year you'll run in to the later year Sportsters have the odd foot peg mounting. It limits your selection of available pegs. I converted my 2018 48 to earlier mounts. I believe 2004 to 2013. Correct me if I'm wrong. The 2014 up have the odd mounting with the feeler peg sticking out.
