What other bikes you ride?
Our fleet of GMs tells the DI tale, the older 6.0 LS easily hit 300k with routine maintenance. The newer DI LS engine consume oil and havent provided the same service.
Last month I scratched my V4 itch with a new Aprilia Tuono base model with the Sachs suspension. Im not a fan of electric suspension and cost was certainly involved in the decision. Essentially, this nasty *** winter is my fault. Year of the ice horse round these parts.
Only have a hundred miles of wet sloppy new hoop running on a break in deal, no real ride report. Have the parts to void warranty but its too cold for plastic clip disassembly. De-stickers and the pin lift works is about as far as Ive gotten.

Congrats! I'm retired & can't afford to buy/trade bikes each year for the new versions.
The depreciation losses, sales taxes, insurance, etc on the newest bikes adds up quick.
Again, congrats!

I brought this leftover 2025 R1300GS home 2 weeks ago, it had 2 miles on it and still does so I guess it's partly my fault as well, BlueridgeXL. Just after the last of the snow was almost melted away we got 6-7" last night and it's still coming down.
I wanted a base GS w/o the fancy active suspension that also goes down when you stop, extra lights, heated seat, GPS mount, extra riding modes, etc. but couldn't locate one. In talking to my dealer he said he could order one but it'd likely be June before it came. Being the great salesman he is he countered: "but with current BMW incentives I can sell you this 25 for $5,000 off MSRP getting it down to the price of a base model". After considering it for about 15 seconds I said OK.
I had a 2014 GS which was the first year with active suspension (rear only I believe) and that suspension was the best thing about a very good motorcycle. It rode incredibly smooth over holes, cracks, washboard dirt, yet firmed up on nice pavement all on its own. Then one day I noticed it riding harsh on a dirt road, as if someone removed the 5W oil from the shocks and put 30W in. Dealer mechanic said it was working normal. It was rare but over the internet I found a handful of others that developed the same problem. By accident I discovered it went back to working again after I had disconnected the battery for something but a few weeks later it stiffened up again. I ended up trading it on an RS. The 1300GS has an entirely different active suspension F&R supposedly better and I've not heard of any issues so far, fingers crossed.
Ergonomics are perfect for me. I already added a taller shield which is in the picture on the low setting. Aluminum panniers are on the way from Italy right now and I hope the tariff doesn't cost me too much. And that's it for setting this bike up,
My niece lives near OC Maryland, 25 50mph, trees down and RT50 running a single lane. She lost power and it might be Friday before its restored, hoping for sooner.
T, no doubt. Im in a good company and were rolling. Data center construction has been a boom around here and like D.K Harrell Im just looking for a little taste.
When this winter gives some grace and Im done modding the Ape, Im jonsing to build a DR650 head, cam, carb the works. 50hp and 330 pounds sounds like a hoot on gravel and logging roads.
This winter has me quoting Wendy from the old HS show I FEEL LIKE BLOWING MY MIND UP.
Might see 50 Saturday, manifesting.
