Do I Need to Program BCM 69992-12B
Hi all. I have a 2016 Forty Eight and looking to replace BCM. I don't have a key FOB or alarm system. I'm planning to buy a used replacement. Does the replacement need to be programmed and is a simple swap?

I don't know about your 2016, however my 2012 requires the programming tool. Call a Harley Davidson shop and ask them about JUST reprogramming the BCM after you do the work. I have read a couple of on line articles that step you through a manual reprogramming. Very lengthy process.

Simple answers = yes (needs programming) & no (easy). If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. These bikes are rolling computers and just like any system board, changing the motherboard requires a bit of programming to mesh things into working order. Definitely do your research, and consider talking to professional.

You might research if any of the motorcycle repair shops in your area have a
Technoresearch Centurion. I believe those are able to "marry" the new BCM...
