IBTRUCKER,
You didn't offend me. I just noticed that at the top of each post it shows the title of the thread. It starts out as "Highway Pegs" then switches to "Thinking of getting my wife a Sportster". I just always thought that the title would remain the same at the top of each post in a particular thread. I wasn't trying to flame you or anyone else. I just noticed something that was weird to me. For all I know, it could be a normal thing. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I'm lovin' my new Custom. I miss the Deuce I traded for it, but I don't regret my decision at all. I actually bought my wife a '07 1200 Low but she decided she didn't want to ride it anymore, so that was one of the reasons I decided to trade my Deuce. So I wound up with a Custom that's more comfortable for both of us and she let me take over the 1200 I bought for her. I guess in a way it was a two-for-one deal. Got rid of one to get two.

Again, sorry about the misunderstanding.

I guess I should have posted something here...I just sold a set of those 04+ HD highway pegs on Ebay.
They worked great but they were on her bike and she wasn't using them that much.

I have a 2006 1200 low with mids and the Harley adjustable highway pegs. They are great. I have had a number of 400 mile days with them and a sundowner without any problems. The sundowner works well with them because the pegs set you into the back of the padding. The sundowner kicks you forward and doesn't work as well with mids.

Sorry, I was trying to get some advice before buying my wife's bike. I think I may have inadvertently offended a few folks here, and didn't mean to, but I have gotten a few helpful responses.

Oh, by the way, I love your choice of rides. Mine is an '07 Softail Custom, too, and in Gloss Black, no less. Have a good 'ern!

Steve

Careful who you talk to! Hawaiibound is our resident bouncer and pit bull on the forum here and could kick your a**. she does this via electrons through your keyboard, so you're probably dead meat as we talk now. Bless you my son, you know not who comes from the darkside to haunt you.

best of luck, we're with you bro.

I have a 2007 1200L with a Sundowner and adjustable highway pegs. It's a dream combo. I really like the mids for town riding and highway pegs for the freeway. This combination adjusts your seating position dramatically, which certainly helps to avoid any discomfort over longer journeys.

I love my H-D frame mounted, adjustable highway pegs. Between those and my Mustang Vintage seat...I can go for long distances and not get uncomfortable.
