Default Brake Pedal

I put a new shift pedal on the bike a couple of weeks ago, and I want to match it on the brake pedal. Unfortuantely, I have a 883 custom with the forward pedals. My brake pedal is a solid piece of metal.

Is there anyway I can put my "Flame" pedal cover on the brake pedal????

The pedal itself (part # 42814-03) already has a threaded stud attached to
it so there's no need to drill into the pedal. I measured the diameter of
the stud with a caliper and found a drill bit a little bit larger. Sorry I
don't recall the exact size. I made a cardboard template of the
inside of the pad and used it to determine where I would drill the hole. You
should be able to approximate the location of the hole based on the attached
photo(s).
I drilled the hole then fastened the cover with a lock washer and the
included nut with nylon insert (as well as some Loctite). I used a hand file
to flatten the underneath of the stock pedal so the washer and nut would lie
flat. If you look at the underside of your stock pedal you'll see why this
must be done. You'll likely bend the stud when you attempt to tighten it if
you don't file it flat first. (I found out the hard way!!)
I then cut two small, thin (approx. 1/8 inch thick) foam rubber pads to
fit between the underside of the pedal cover and the top of the stock pedal
(see photo 2). The foam rubber prevents the cover from shifting
or twisting during use. Simply fasten the cover to the pedal using the lock washer and Loctite. That's about it...I've had mine on the bike
for about 4 months and it hasn't moved yet...

Good luck,
Gilmour68
