Just wondering if anyone knows if just changing to a heavier fork oil will help with 'sag', bottom out, etc. and what is the weight of factory oil ,what would be a good oil to change to. thanx .
Standard fork oil is 15w. Heavier weight oil should help with bottoming out but I don't think it will do much help with sag. If you have a sag problem you may have weak springs.
easy fix is to replace the springs. Also I mixed half heavier weight oil with the stock fork oil. I used progressive springs. Wife has seen a large difference since then. After all it is her bike.

if you really want better front suspension bolt on a set of 03 sportster sport forks, or FXDX tubes i f you are a big guy, they have heaviersprings, and both use a cartridge inside aka sportbike, instead of harleys cheap outdated damper rods, they are triple adjustable , still available from stealers, look for a discount dealer, i paid 450 for my pair, and i ride happily everafter
This is a tad off topic, but can a wider set of triple clamps be fitted to my 07 Roadster to give it a DynaWide look? Or would it be cheaper in the long run to just go with a Dyna Wide Glide?
Surprisingly heavier fork oil will help with bottoming out.
I was sceptical about that, but since it was time to change the fork oil, I used the Heavy weight Screamin Eagle fork oil, and it significantly reduced the bottoming out. Didn't totally eliminate the problem, and progressive springs are in my future plans, but it did help quit a bit.
