Cold outside. Will I be able to install heated grips by myself? How to remove left one - is it glued?
Thanks!

The left stock grip is glued on the handlebar, you can use WD-40 or cut it with a razor blade if you don't plan to keep it. Most HD left hand grip has a little notch that will fit between the left control housing, glue is not required. I don't know how hard to wire the electric grips though, it shouldn't be too bad.
Heated gloves work better than heated grips. I've tried both. I don't own either, YET! But it's just about to get cold enough to place the order for the gloves.
How you connect yourself in those heated gloves to the bike? If you need to get out, how problematic to disconnect?
Shell I go with HD gloves or I can save some money and buy somewhere else?
Thanks!

Hey Elena,
I live in in Brooklin, north of Whitby and just did the install of HD heated hand grips last week. I travel to Aurora on my bike every day and with the heated grips I can tolerate riding at 6:30am when it's about 3 degrees outside. I wear ski gloves and have the heated grips and my hands stay nice and warm.
As for the install, it took me about 3 hours, it's not very difficult if you are mechanically inclined but it is finicky and patience is required as a lot of dismantling is necessary (torx tools required). You need to splice into the stock wiring harness for the accessory wire, so you have to understand how butt plugs work etc...
The heated gear all plugs connects (depending of how many heated items you have) Then you have a small little plug that plugs into a pig tail type connector. Veryeasy to plug yourself up, or get off the bike.
Gerbing makes all of the heated gear for HD, so it's a bit cheaper to buy direct from gerbing.
