Yeah, I ride without a windshield for the most part during the summer, but when it gets down the the 40's or colder, or when you are on a long all day cruise, a windshield is great for keeping that 'blast' off your upper body.
I was out riding this morning (high 20's, low 30's), and yes, I had a windshield on the bike.

Both my Road King and FatBoy came with the 'quick disconnect' windshields, so I decided to try riding with one (just because I was curious).....
All I can say is when it's in the 40's or lower, or if you are on an all day 70+ MPH run, they do make a difference (as much as I hate to actually admit it)...
