I have an '07 Nightster and have searched the net high and low, trying to find some nice black anonized or even powder coated billet forward controls. So far to no avail. Well I have sent an email to a company called "Exile" located in California. They seem to have something closer to what I'm looking for. I really don't like the rounded peg style forwards that are out there. I'm really lookin for some beefy, squared-off, stout lookin type controls. Any suggestions? Thanks -
Yeah powdercoater that thought has crossed my mind many times already. However I really have'nt found the "right" ones yet. BTW - How is everything in Spring Lake? I retired from Ft. Bragg in 2003 after 21 yrs (19 of em right there at good ole Fayett-Nam) and moved here to the midwest. I really thought I'd never say it but I really wish I'd have stayed there. Oh well, my journey continues.
When i ordered my nightster they already had aftermarket forward controls i could order from harley. My came gloss black and i like them..used my stock pags and the brake pedal ithink is 1in x1in. This is what i got http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
Yeah Frinzo - I am familar w/those. The thought at one time crossed my mind, however they just don't do it for me. I really want some billet ones kinda like the onesseen here: http://www.exilecycles.com/index.php?section=32
Business here in Spring Lake is going great. I retired from Pope AFB in March 2006 but had my business up and running since 1999. I've been here since '92... couldn't get orders out... so I made the best of it. I didn't plan on staying here but business is too good to leave.
Good luck with the forward controls. If ya can't find what you want, find a good machine shop and make them!

If you go to the same link you posted and click "Details and Pricing" there is a line that says "Add Black Anodizing .... $50"
I'm sure they will clarify when they respond to you but I believe their controls for sportsers are for models up to 2003, in otherwords pre-rubbermount. Later models don't bolt up flush like those shownbut extend outward to clear exhaust and are actually farther back than older models. Those are however some slick controls that would look great on an XL1200N if they make a model to fit.
