i installed v&h short shots on my new nightster. bike runs great but i did order the extra quiet baffles bike was way too load without them i think they were 39.00 dollars more but worth it.
i originally bought the VH fuel pak for my new black short shots on my Nightster. The service guys at the HD dealership couldn't get it to fit. So, instead i did the download. I ended up doing the Stage 1 as well as download, runs great.

What is this download all about? Is it a free computer upgrade? How does one go about doing a download. What are the pre-requisets (spelling) to a download? Can you just do a download only?
New pipes will not have a significant effect on performance, Big change in sound. much deeper with your new Short Shots. Good news is you should not have to change the fuel input because you did not ad any air.
Upgraded A/C gets more air in the engine, so you need more fuel. -re-jet/adj for carbs, map for EFI.
remember to post the pic when you get those Short Shots on.
JC,
from what i understand it's not necessary to do it, but it's highly recommended. To tell you the truth i've heard that doing a stage 1 AC and download isn't necessary when putting in new pipes. If you do the Stage 1, then you need the download. So, you're pretty much going to be just fine with the pipes only.
Hey Charlie,
from what i understand the download gives the bike the proper fuel mixture, which is necessary if you do a stage 1 upgrade. It's available at your local HD dealer for around $120 if i remember correctly.
