Ok my winter project is gonna be 12" apes on my xl1200N.
I'm having problems with the cables. I don't want stainless or braided cables, I just want extended versions of what is on there. I was wondering if anyone know if any stock cables from other models fit the sportster with 12" apes.
Since I assume most people have no idea what the length is I gathered that the cables should be the following lengths.
Clutch - 65"
Throttle - 35"
brake line - 44" (thats more of a guess)
Your dealer should be able to order you some from an aftermarket company. If not, just reference your stock cable number with Barnett. That's where I'm getting mine from. I might get a stock front brake cable from a Street Bob because they are actually really clean and nice looking. The only thing is that they are about 70 bucks and one from Barnett is 30.
