I ordered the Chain to Belt conversion kit for my Sporty but it's on back order since Harley Davidson shutsdown for 2 weeks for Christmas Holiday. I decided to do some of the prep work and removed everything I need to install the belt kit. I removed the rear wheel, chain, rear wheel sprocket, other shaft sprocket and the exhaust pipes. All in all it was pretty easy, the only tool I had to buy was a 1 - 7/8" socket to remove the nut over the sprocket. I also decided to start installing the chrome kit I got for that side of the bike and have a question.
When changing the chrome on the crankcase cover, the instructions say to remove only a specific set of screws. Does this mean that only the cover comes off with these screws and I won't need to drain the oil in the engine and replace the gasket?
If so, that would be great and I will do that cover tomorrow.
