i was in gainesville fl on sunday i saw a guy on a crotch rocket with shorts & flip flops going down archer rd could of been the same guy it was a red bike as im riding im wondering what he was thinking about his attire nothing ill bet after all he,s in a college town he,s there to learn right .guarantee you he will learn the hard way . yes we all have to make our own chooses but shorts & flip flops on a bike give me a break .i wouldn,t chew the guys *** out i would help if i could like kaw-sakimx6 but that dude is still a moroon !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I back you 100%. Anyone that rides a bike in shorts & flip flops is a total MORON in my book. You wear that type of attire you deserve to be hurt to learn a hard lesson in proper riding attire.
I can't believe that ANY motorcycle rider would knock another for what they are wearing, don't you realize that the very act of riding a motorcycle seems reckless and stupid to most of the population?
Does that make all motorcycle riders MORONS to people in small cars...and people in small cars are MORONSto people in pickups...and people in pickups MORONS to people in kenworths...and people in kenworths MORONS to train engineers?
We all live with our own level of risk whether we are motorcycle riders, sky divers or mountain climbers...live & let live and leave the judging out if it.
Easy,
I drove a tow truck for 15 years and seen alot of **** out there.
I still stop for what ever reason.if i drive by, that wondering **** is in the back of my head and i dont like that.
All Ride Safe
I support you, I see guys all the time blazing north and south on Route 15 wearing shorts doing 80-90 MPH. STUPID. I have no sympathy for STUPID. and Flip Flops, I don't let my kids ride their bicycles with flip flops. When I was a kid, a friend was riding with flip flops and got his big toe caught in the front sprocket on his bike, lopped off the toe and it was laying there on the sidewalk...
Geez I was eating a sandwich and just about tossed themafter reading that.
Live and let live help is all you could have done. He learned a painful lesson.
I love seeing these heated discussions/points of view. My 2 cents, as a retired Paramedic/Firefighter is that eventually some of us eventually lose our sympathy for those who hurt, and some also lose their empathy. After seeing for myself so much hurt that could have been so easily avoided by not doiing something obviously not too bright, I understand all too well the posters feelings that day. Would I have lectured the downed biker? Maybe I would have. I've convinced die hard wind in the hair riders here in floiduh to start wearing at least something on their noggins. Some took one story to convince, some took a couple more. Maybe this guy will learn that if you expect a sympathetic response from most guys, you should at least take the barest of riding precautions, one of which is not to wear flip-flops. Stupid is as stupid does.
Black , white, pink or purple...You don't make fun of someone for what isn't their choice. Stick a rod through your nose or some crap like that I'm sorry..it would beyour CHOICE. I feel you are fair game. I don't pitty crooks because their momma didn't show them enough attention and just say "it's not their fault".( P.S If you currently have a rod through your nose that comment was for effect....not that there is anything wrong with that).
