Default drag bar & forward control recommendations, PLEASE ?

Hello All.
Gonna install drag bars and forward controls on 04 1200R as a winter/Xmas project. Have used forum for upgrades on bagger
with no problems..so I'll turn to my friends and follow your suggestions. Would like to use polished forward controls. don't know weather to go with HD or third party? I would like to keep cablesand thats all that matters for drag bars....I will listen if suggestions are made to replace cables?

Thanks All...
Oasis

Can't wait for warmer weather and a little more sunlight...time to plan a trip or two...

Forward controls will change the way you ride the bike your butt has to do all the work.
Your legsnow to do part of that work by being able to shift your wieght around on the seat, with forwards you will lose that ability.
The bars are the same as long as you have a good back or long arms you're good because you are going to have to reach farther.
So as long as you have a good butt and back you're OK!!

I don't think the two go well together, the only way it would be comfortable would be if you used real long risers and that kind of defeats to purpose of the drag bars. If your going with forward controls you would be more comfortable with something like mini apes. As far as the forwards the black look good on an R with the black engine treatment.

You need to go with rearsets to use the dragbars as they are intended. I am 5' 5" , 140 lbs., and really like my bars and rearsets, alot more fun to throw around in the twistys!!

If you go with drags I recommend those of the 32" wide variety..... The stability alone makes them worth it... the extra length makes life easier when using your mirrors as well...
